Kim Durham began her tattooing career in Houston, Texas in 1994. After college, where she majored in Photography, Art History, and Studio Art, she finished her tattooing apprenticeship and spent a few years establishing herself in Texas. In 1998 she moved to Phoenix to work with body mod guru Steve Haworth. She owned and operated Ultimate Art Tattoo Studio in Tempe, Arizona until moving to L.A. in 2000.
Kim has vast experience with very diverse artistic styles. She has especially cultivated a passion for Asian , Southeast Asian, and Polynesian iconography and techniques, some of which include: Japanese, Chinese, Persian, Tibetan, Hindu, Khmer, Laotian, Burmese, and Thai tattoo art (as well as related styles in the Pacific Islands). She has traveled Asia , Europe , South America , Mexico and gained extensive knowledge of indigenous and tribal peoples, their art, and their body modification rituals.
Kim is also a painter and photographer . She is Blood Bourne Pathogen Certified, and exceeds industry standards in her sterilization methods and her safety practices during each procedure. When Kim is not tattooing in L.A., she is traveling around the world for business and pleasure, sailing, and having as many adventures as possible
